Pain: The Last Thing to Show and the First Thing to Go

Throughout everyone’s life every person experiences many issues. Unfortunately, one of them is pain. Pain can be described in many ways, depending on the individual and the area affected. Pain is a late warning and protective signal for individuals that something is and has been going wrong, and their state of health is being compromised.

In our society, people think that when they are pain free they are healthy. Nothing is further from the truth. Just look at the World Health Organization’s definition of health: Health is not only the absence of disease and infirmity; but a state of mental, physical, and social well-being.

In essence, pain is the last thing to show up and when it is treated, the first thing to go. This demonstrates a need to find and correct the cause of the problem rather than relieve the effect (or symptom) of the problem. If the cause of the problem is not corrected, the effect will only progress in many different ways over time.

The solution to this problem relies on a person following the fundamentals of health: quality nutrition, sufficient exercise, proper rest, positive mental attitude, proper posture, and a properly functioning nervous system.
